We had lots of cheap ground beef and potato based meals. The old trope of meals that resulted in “meatloaf” by Friday…. I hated meatloaf by the time I(the baby by 10 year to my sisters) was into grade school.
My best friends mom introduced me to all the fancy vegetable dishes and my girlfriends family introduced me to the magic world of Asian food!
And yeah a lot of what I expected in those early days was based on cartoons! Even so much as I thought canned spinach would be so badass! It wasn’t.
