Washington DC is a wonderful place to visit and explore. Who wouldn’t want to visit the place of our nation’s capital? There is an abundance of things to do in DC this weekend that range from very inexpensive and free to activities that are a little more costly. Here you will find a list of a few things you may want to try.

1) Tour the Buildings of Capitol Hill

The tour is a great way to see everything there is to offer. The tickets include a docent led tour, which means someone will guide and lead the tour so that you don’t have to find the information on your own. It is recommended, but not required, to reserve your docent led tour in advance. There are also tickets available to the public that are self led.

2) Tour the Memorials

One of the great things to do is to visit and tour the Memorials. The tours start at just $12 per person. You will see highlights of the Memorials and the National Mall. Both led and self guided tours are available at this location.

3) View How Money Is Made

Have you ever wondered just how they make money? This is the place to go. You are sure to rate this one in the top of your list of the things to do in DC this weekend. At the Bureau of Engraving and Printing you will get to view the process of how money is printed. There are tours that are general to the public. Tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis, so getting there early would be a good idea if you don’t like waiting in line. Visitors must pass through a security screening before entering into the facility.

4) Arlington National Cemetery

This military cemetery is one of the most honored in the United States of America. This is the resting place to over 400,000 of unknown soldiers at the Tomb of Unknowns. The led tour will guide you through the parts of the cemetery that you won’t want to miss. You can also take a self guided tour if you like to spend more time viewing and exploring.

5) Air and Space Museum

You can’t go wrong visiting the Air and Space Museum. The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is known for being the most visited museum in the entire country. This museum had over 8 million visitors, just last year.
